Help Us Celebrate Activity Professionals Week

January 19-25, 2020

So much goes into making the Nursing Home run smoothly and the Activity Department plays a large roll in this as well. The Activity Department at Ozark Health is made up of 3 caring ladies who always put the residents first. They have a total of 42 years in the medical field. Below is a little bit about them.

 

Karon Curtis is from Minnesota and is married. She started when she was 16 as a CNA and soon afterwards became a Med Tech for 6 years. She does various jobs within the department from daily activity to sewing on a button for a resident. Her love and understanding for the residents is the reason she comes to work. She feels like the residents are part of her family. She goes out of her way to make sure she puts a smile on the residents faces. She has been employed by Ozark Health for 15 years. She is looking forward to retiring later in the year.

 

Wendy Dufrene is from Louisiana and is married and has 1 son and has a granddaughter. She has 8 ½ years of medial experience from working in an OB department & Nursery, Med Surge and now Activities. She makes sure that every weekend is covered and the residents have plenty do. She brings a Cajun flare to Activities and they enjoy listening to her accent and tease her about it. She has been employed by Ozark Health for 8 ½ years.

 

Deena Rath is from California and is married with 3 kids. She has 8 ½ years of medical experience from being certified as a CNA, Restorative, MA-C, Activity Supervisor and Social Services Director. She has a variety of responsibility from making sure that the residents have a variety of activities scheduled each month, plans social parties for the residents and outings, she handles grievances and insures that the residents personal belongs are inventoried and labeled. She makes sure that the residents rights are being carried out. She goes out of her way to make sure they residents have what they need and ways to enrich their lives. She has been employed by Ozark Health for 8 1/2 years.
