March 11, 2020

Ozark Health is pleased to announce that March 11 is recognized as Registered Dietitians Day. Monica does so much, and we do not feel that one day is enough to celebrate her. We are lucky to have Monica Hunt MS, RD, LD on our team.

Registered Dietitians are wonderful people who make it their life’s work to learn about nutrition and how what we eat affects our bodies. Many times, RD’s are in hospitals, doctor’s offices and anywhere that people are looking at how to get and stay healthy. A day has been set aside to honor them. Registered Dietitian Day is a great time to recognize the job they do, the part they have in helping us stay healthy, and highlight the messages that they are offering to our community as a whole.

Monica has worked at Ozark Health for 18 years and has been a Registered Dietitian for 12 years. She received her undergrad and her graduate studies at University of Central Arkansas. She also teaches nutrition to students UACCM in Morrilton.

While Monica is always available to help staff with food choices, for the facility she assesses the nutritional status of all the hospital and nursing home patients. She occasionally will see outpatient and home health patients. She also checks the menus at Ozark Health for nutritional adequacy.

Monica has a passion for speaking to groups about nutrition and specific diseases, and often works with interns from neighboring colleges.

Ozark Health is so fortunate to have Monica. Please let her know how appreciated she is-today, and every day!
